Founder and CEO
Andy Streitfeld is the founder of AMS Pictures, a Dallas-based communications company. An avid filmmaker, techno-geek and natural entrepreneur since childhood, Andy earned a Bachelor’s degree in broadcast and film from New York University, paying for his college years by running an inner-city television studio, teaching kids how to produce community programming. In 1982, with a loan from his 88-year-old grandmother, Andy founded AMS Productions in the spare bedroom of his small home in Bedford, Texas. Today, the company has more than 65 full-time employees, with facilities and staff in both Dallas and Austin, Texas.
AMS Pictures has become a magnet for creative talent and a reliable partner for some of America’s most prestigious corporate clients. While building a successful business serving the corporate and broadcast marketplace, under Andy’s leadership AMS Pictures has always had a passion for creating communication products that make a real difference in the lives of people, families and communities. This commitment to creating meaningful programming led Andy to apply 28 years of experience in creative media and visual storytelling to create original programs that inspire, provoke and entertain.
The body of work produced under the rubric of AMS Pictures includes Black History Uncovered, a series of documentaries on African America history, as well as other titles on social issues, history, and culture. Andy’s dream is that documentaries become as popular as American Idol!
