A native of St. Louis, MO, Luisa Mendoza graduated with a BA in Communications from St. Louis University in 1993.  After 3 years of working as a public information officer for the St. Louis Health Department, Luisa moved into the “production” side of public relations and advertising.  In 1997 she received her degree from the Art Institute of Dallas and joined AMS Pictures.

In her years at AMS, she has gained valuable experience and on-the-job training in all aspects of multi-camera studio production, single camera HD/film production, and live corporate events production.  She spent two years as a Studio Lighting Director, a “live events” Lighting Director, and studio camera operator before moving into the role of Director of Photography for Video and High Definition.  Luisa is also an experienced First Assistant Camera Operator for film and High Definition cameras.

Shooting for a multitude of high profile clients, Luisa has had the opportunity of working with: Texas Instruments, EDS, Frito-Lay, Gambrinus, TXU and Sealy.  Local and regional commercial shooting include spots for Mason and Moon (Subway), Duncan and Associates (Albertsons), K104 Dallas, Stephen F. Austin University, and Dish Network.

Luisa has been the director of photography for several award-winning documentaries and specials such as:  The Power of Harmony – 25 Years of the Turtle Creek Chorale for Emmy award-winning Producer/Director Ginny Martin and Rising from the Rails – The story of the Pullman Porter. Luisa has also been behind the lens on WEtv’s series, Girl Meets Gown, which aired on national television in the spring of 2010.

As Production Department Lead, Luisa also assists the Department Manager in supervision of production personnel as well as the day-to-day operations of the department.
